» Profile

The members of The Hollywood Bees have learned their craft in a succession of bands and have supported The Hollies, The Moody Blues, The Searchers and many other leading showbiz names achieving well over 15,000 performances collectively over the years.

The members of the band have performed at some of the country's top venues including the Glastonbury Festival, Belfast Waterfront Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, Acoustic Festival of Britain plus many theatres and music venues.

Our aim is to bring our interpretation of those wonderful Hollies hits, along with some of the music that influenced them, to audiences who love the Hollies music. Powerful, distinctive, catchy melodies with trademark harmonies treated in our own fashion but true to the Hollies original recordings.

The Linskill Centre North Shields was at the forefront of sixties nostalgia as the uks no1 Hollies tribute band, The Hollywood Bees took to the stage. With seats at a premium the two hundred strong audience were rewarded with over two hours of the Hollies greatest hits. With atmospheric stage lighting and smoke setting the scene the introduction music started, and as the music gathered pace the band took to the stage and straight in to Im alive followed by on a carousel. By this time the audience had warmed to them and both audience and band alike were enjoying the evening. At one point in the first set they did an acoustic version of just one look, a clever arrangement which featured the drummer at the front of the stage clowning around but doing some intricate harmonies to supplement the other three singers. After a short intermission the band was back on stage starting with I cant let go and quickly in to Carrie Anne complete with steel drums. By this time the audience were up on their feet dancing to all the recognisable hits. At one point as the lead guitarist donned a banjo the singer announced that it was a little known fact that the Hollies did a tribute to George Formby and went straight in to Im standing on the corner. With everybody singing, this bought the house down. As they left the stage after yes I will, they came back to rapturous applause and shouts of he aint heavy hes my brother which they duly obliged. All in all as the management from the Linskill Centre said it was by far the best show they have staged there and would be re-booking them sometime in August. If you do get the chance go and see The Hollywood Bees in concert you wont be disappointed.

Those pristine harmonies arent easy to pull off, and their legacy
might have been better honored by the Hollywood Bees, a U.K. based Hollies tribute act.
- Los Angeles Times.

By far the best show we have had here and will be re-booking them in August
- The Linskill Centre.

This took me back to the sixties a great band with superb harmonies.
